Nigel Hemming

A message from Pam Hemming to all club members:

Nigel Hemming, a long-standing member of SSC, sadly died on 4th March, aged
82. He had been Secretary, Membership Secretary and Training Centre
Principal, having qualified as a dinghy instructor and senior instructor
well into his sixties. Most of all he just loved sailing at Slaughden and
chatting to everyone there.

Nigel's funeral will take place on Friday 12th April at 12 noon at St Edmund's
Church Southwold.

From Leslie:

Nigel was a very valued member of the training team- together with Richard Rupert & I we did
the SI course- quite the oldies on the course- the rest were well under half
our ages so it was quite nerve racking at times. Nigel had a very clear and
cheerful way of teaching which we all appreciated. And , another talent was
his film making- many excellent little films of our sailing exploits &
training.

We will all miss him a lot .
