VISITORS

A warm welcome awaits all visitors to our club

A visitor is defined as a guest who is not intending to launch from the club. A Visitor can accompany a Full Member in the members craft and also attend Social events.

To protect the interests of the club, its members and guests all visitors as defined above MUST be signed into the visitors book upon arrival, by the accompanying member. Once entered into the visitors book all guests automatically become 'Day Members' of the club.

Visitors that intend to launch from the club must join as temporary members (see temporary members)

Members are responsible for accompanying visitors at all times whilst on site. A visitor can be signed in up to a maximum of FOUR times per annum regardless of sponsor.

Well behaved dogs are very welcome in the grounds, must be on leads at all times and away from the stairwells and balcony.

Visiting Yachts, once on a mooring are welcome to come ashore and leave their tenders near the slip whilst they use our galley & shower facilities providing that there is someone around to facilitate access to the Clubhouse. Again prior notice would be required via our membership secretary.

It is advisable to arrange your visit well in advance. So if applicable your temporary membership can be arranged before your visit.

GENERAL

Slaughden Sailing Club is a very friendly and unpretentious sailing club in Aldeburgh, Suffolk. Having just under 300 hundred members and a busy programme means that you can easily get to know everyone. However, small doesn't mean basic. We have a new extension to the clubhouse with a fully fitted galley, changing rooms, showers and lounge with a scenic view west up river.

If you prefer not to be participating on the water then come and sit in the Clubhouse and watch the activities and or marvel at our river view and our fantastic sunsets! The club also have an annual membership category known as Friends of Slaughden for those not planning or unable to launch craft and sail from the site.

Over the past decades Slaughden Sailing Club has gained a reputation for always making new members and visitors welcome. If you are visiting Aldeburgh with your dinghy/kayak/canoe/paddleboard then Temporary Membership, subject to the terms and conditions outlined, gives you access to all the Club facilities; the clubhouse, dinghy park and slipway.

How to find us:

Enter Aldeburgh by the A1094 from the direction of Snape. Straight on at the island by the Co-Op. Past the church, turn right at the bottom of the hill onto High Street. Carry straight on past the queues at the chip shops until the end of the High Street. Continue down the very pot-holed, bumpy track (also known as Slaughden Road)ontinue down the very pot-holed, bumpy track (also known as Slaughden Road) until you see the car park sign at Slaughden Quay and the clubhouse.
