First Aid

In a medical emergency a little first aid knowledge and immediate action can save lives, especially in remote locations.
The first aid course is especially tailored to the needs of dinghy sailors. In addition to dealing with the usual broken limbs etc, it also gives practical advice on recognising and treating hypothermia, an insidious condition which can creep up, without warning, on the fittest person when immersed in water for too long.
This one-day course is designed to provide a working knowledge of first aid for people using small craft and support boat skippers. The course is MCA and HSE approved.
All Dinghy & Senior Instructors must hold a valid First Aid Certificate and it is expected that one person on the club's safety boat will also be first aid trained.
For details of the next available course please see the on line calendar.
