Many members will have met her last on the occasion of the dedication of the seat to her husband Barrie : it sits on the west balcony overlooking the river.   • Beach Clean

    AYC with Slaughden SC has a twice yearly Beach Clean from the Martello Tower to Fort Green. It's done within the guidelines of the Marine Conservation Society. Patrick Nicholls sets it up.     Slaughden Sailing would like to pay their respects to Andrew Smith who sadly died in an accident whilst out Kite Surfing near Walbleswich beach. Andrew was highly qualified in his sport being a Senior BKSA Kitesurf Instructor- Level 2 + Head Instructor IKO kitesurfing Instructor- BSUPA Sup Instructor. -1st Aid Qualified.     Sadly Peter died on Sunday 28 th January in hospital. He had been poorly for some time and it was tough that during the 3 weeks he spent in hospital no-one could visit. His last visit to Slaughden was on a lovely sunny day last summer when he inspected the pathway he was instrumental in building between the club and Upson's Yard.     Robert Tindall has setup a taskforce to look at protecting the shore line at the club along with the possibility of improving the slipway and adding a pontoon.   • Covid update end December 2020

    As a result of the recent announcement that has catapulted Suffolk into Tier 4 the club have had to impose the following changes: - Closure of the clubhouse, once again, from 26 th December 2020. This in accordance with the directive that all indoor sports and health facilities should shut. However, the toilet facilities will remain accessible on a one in one out basis for any members attending the club.
