RNLI Fundrasier - Dawn to Dusk sail we are also launching the Cardboard Boat Challenge
On the 27th July, the day of the RNLI Fundraiser with the Dawn to Dusk sail we are also launching the Cardboard Boat Challenge. If you are interested in having a go please see the rules below and please let me (kathypage2000@gmail.com) know if you are planning on entering so I can get an idea of numbers. There is no fee to enter. You just need to have your boat made of cardboard

Dove Point Sail
Last Friday under blue skies and light winds, 12 dinghies made up of an assortment of toppers, lasers, wanderers and wayfarers made their way to Snape for a pub lunch. These 20 sailors were joined by 2 patrol boats and their crews All had an enjoyable day and based on that success further trips will be planned. RNLi 200 Year Celebration - 15th June from 5pm
Aldeburgh Lifeboat brings to the community an invitation to celebrate the 200 year anniversary of the RNLI on Aldeburgh Beachfrom 5 pm on June 15th "The fun starts at 5pm, with a delicious barbq offered by local craft butchers Salter and King, or guests are welcome to bring a picnic. Billy Briggs
It is with great sadness that William Briggs,(Bill)has passed away on the first of April at the age of 93.He was a long standing member of SSC having joined in 1968.Taking on many of the tasks of running the club he was Commodore in 1979-1980. Bill was also a Trustee for many years. The first Dinghy he owned was a Mirror 32223 called Noddy, which he built in the kitchen, moving on to Noddy Too

Nigel Hemming
A message from Pam Hemming to all club members: Nigel Hemming, a long-standing member of SSC, sadly died on 4th March , aged 82. He had been Secretary, Membership Secretary and Training Centre Principal, having qualified as a dinghy instructor and senior instructor well into his sixties. Most of all he just loved sailing at Slaughden and chatting to everyone there. Nigel's funeral will take
