ANDREW SMITH (AIRBOURNE KITESURFER)

Published 16:08 on 21 Feb 2021

Slaughden Sailing would like to pay their respects to Andrew Smith who sadly died in an accident whilst out Kite Surfing near Walbleswich beach.

Andrew was highly qualified in his sport being a Senior BKSA Kitesurf Instructor- Level 2 + Head Instructor IKO kitesurfing Instructor- BSUPA Sup Instructor. -1st Aid Qualified. He introduced these sports to many along the Suffolk Coast and rivers with Safety always being paramount.

Andrew had been a member of Slaughden Sailing Club for several years and often assisted on the RYA 'Push the Boat Out' event at the club to encourage people onto the water. He would arrive with a selection of Kayaks and Paddle boards and flyers for kite surfing should anyone feel more adventurous. Such a kind and thoughtful guy who will be sadly missed by all that knew him.

Our thoughts are with his wife Cora and family.
