    Shirley Skelcher

    I am sad to report that Shirley Skelcher died peacefully on Friday 30 th April , with her daughters Clare and Angela by her side. Many members will have met her last on the occasion of the dedication of the seat to her husband Barrie : it sits on the west balcony overlooking the river.   • ANDREW SMITH (AIRBOURNE KITESURFER)

    Slaughden Sailing would like to pay their respects to Andrew Smith who sadly died in an accident whilst out Kite Surfing near Walbleswich beach. Andrew was highly qualified in his sport being a Senior BKSA Kitesurf Instructor- Level 2 + Head Instructor IKO kitesurfing Instructor- BSUPA Sup Instructor. -1st Aid Qualified.     Sadly Peter died on Sunday 28 th January in hospital. He had been poorly for some time and it was tough that during the 3 weeks he spent in hospital no-one could visit. His last visit to Slaughden was on a lovely sunny day last summer when he inspected the pathway he was instrumental in building between the club and Upson's Yard.     Taskforce

    Robert Tindall has setup a taskforce to look at protecting the shore line at the club along with the possibility of improving the slipway and adding a pontoon.     New for 2020 - Race Series passes to encourage boats onto the water. This season we are introducing a race series pass. The pass will give a reduced race-entry fee for a single series. The race series pass pricing is as follows: 50% reduction if you buy all 6 series in the season, saving £35 (as against paying for individual races) over the season.
