Billy Briggs
It is with great sadness that William Briggs,(Bill)has passed away on the first of April at the age of 93.He was a long standing member of SSC having joined in 1968.Taking on many of the tasks of running the club he was Commodore in 1979-1980. Bill was also a Trustee for many years. The first Dinghy he owned was a Mirror 32223 called Noddy, which he built in the kitchen, moving on to Noddy Too

Nigel Hemming
A message from Pam Hemming to all club members: Nigel Hemming, a long-standing member of SSC, sadly died on 4th March , aged 82. He had been Secretary, Membership Secretary and Training Centre Principal, having qualified as a dinghy instructor and senior instructor well into his sixties. Outboard Motors
When the membership renewals were being carried out at the end of last year we failed to renew the outboard motor storage. I have now corrected this error and renewed the outboard storage for this year. All members who have an outboard stored at the club should have today received an invoice for the storage. HAPPY NEW YEAR!
New Year's Day dawned grey & windy--- butabout 30 members arrived at Slaughden to enjoy turkey sandwiches, mulled wine & mince pies kindly provided by Kathy (Page ) and helpers. Racing was planned for the afternoon this year due to the difficulty of getting the safety boat in at low tide. Actually it worked well as the wind strength had decreased a little: but it looked pretty cold to me. But- 7 intrepid

RYA L2 - Congratulations!
Congratulations to all candidates that successfully passed their RYA L2 Dinghy Course over the weekend of 24/25 th June. It was also great to see that the club investment in 6 x Laser Picos for training is being put to good use. A huge thank you to Peter Lock our Senior Instructor for leading this course and to all the Dinghy Instructors and Sue Lock for their support.
