Introduction:- For those who are visiting or holidaying in East Suffolk and have an interest in sailing Temporary Membership of Slaughden Sailing Club is available. The minimum period for temporary membership is ONE WEEK.

The club is a very friendly and informal sailing club situated on the rivers Alde/Ore at Aldeburgh, Suffolk. We have around three hundred members and a busy programme. We have a modern, recently extended, clubhouse with galley, changing rooms, showers and a lounge with a fine view west up river where you can sit in a comfy chair and watch the racing - or the fantastic sunset, depending on your preference! All these facilities are available to temporary members. Please see below for the rules that apply to temporary members.

There is normally space within the dinghy park for temporary members to place their dinghies during their stay but if you require such a place you should contact the dinghy park supervisor to confirm availability for your particular boat before applying.

Over the years Slaughden Sailing Club has won a reputation for being a friendly family club and always makes new members and visitors welcome.

We require the following information:

1. Number and Name of all people and whether they are per Adult £84 PER WEEK & per Child £42 PER WEEK (up to 18 years) wishing to access the club

You will be created as a contact on our management system and will receive an invoice. Temporary Members are expected to settle their invoice immediately.

Our Temporary Membership Fees for 2024 are:

Temporary - ***Minimum period of one week or multiples there of. Available to families or a single person over 18 years or older - Fees - work out at Adult £84 per week / Child up to 18 years £42 per week.

Dinghy park fee £20 per boat per week

How to find us:- Entering Aldeburgh by the A1094 from the direction of A12.

Straight on at the roundabout by Tesco. Continue passed the church and turn right at the bottom of the hill onto High Street. Carry straight on to the end of the High Street.
Continue down the very pot-holed, bumpy track (also known as Slaughden Road) until you see our black boarded clubhouse on your right hand side. There is parking in front of the club. Post code for satnav use IP15 5NA.

Temporary Membership Rules:-

1.A Club Officer, or member of the Management Committee, may admit into temporary

membership, persons with a sailing interest. They will be allowed to participate in Club

activities and races (subject to any contrary ruling by the Management Committee).

2. The appropriate Membership Fee and (where applicable) Dinghy Park Fees, must

be paid before Club facilities are used.

3.Temporary Members will have the full use of Clubhouse facilities within the context

of the Club Rules.

4.Temporary Members will have no voting rights in the Club.

5. Temporary Members will have no right to introduce visitors.

6 Temporary Members will not be eligible to collect race trophies.

7 Temporary Members may have the right to boat storage on the Club Dinghy Park,

subject to availability and must use the space allocated by the Dinghy Park Supervisor.
